Reece Hinchcliff, Ph.D

University of Technology Sydney

Dr Reece Hinchcliff is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Health Services management at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His research and teaching examines how to identify and share knowledge within clinical, organisational and policy environments to improve the quality of health systems. He also has an international reputation for his work investigating and improving the delivery of health service accreditation programs in hospital and other health service Settings. Reece publishes extensively, with over 60 peer-reviewed academic outputs. These include papers in leading health services research journals, such as International Journal for Quality in Health Care and BMJ Quality and Safety. His research has been cited on over 500 occasions, resulting in a Google Scholar i10-index of 17 and H-index of 14. He is also on the editorial board of BMC Health Services Research and has reviewed papers for 25 other international journals. Reece has presented his research and chaired conferences and symposia on more than 40 occasions, including as an invited speaker at international quality and safety conferences. He has received over AU$350k of competitive research funding for projects in Australia, North America, Europe and Asia. Critically, his research has contributed to large-scale health policy initiatives, including the implementation of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in Australia. In his previous role, Reece was the Director of the Master of Health Management (MHM) at UNSW Australia, which is ranked in the top 50 universities internationally. His position involved developing new curricula and managing a team of early and mid-career academics to convene courses, deliver online and face-to-face lectures and tutorials, and supervise Higher Degree Research (HDR) students.

Professor Dr. Peter CHANG, MD, MPH, ScD (Harvard), FRCP (London) is the Secretary-General of the Asian Health Literacy Association, a Geneva-based international nongovernmental organization, also the Vice President of the International Health Literacy Association, IHLA, as well as the Senior Global Health Literacy Advisor, International Center for Migration Health and Development, Switzerland, also serves in the editorial board of the Journal of Health Literacy Research and Practice. He is now the Adjunct Professor of the Tufts University School of Medicine, and a Visiting Professor of the Kazakh National Medical University, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro in Semarang.
